The line is the least-squares fit of the points the student plotted, computed rather than sketched.

It watches the work while it happens

Handwriting on the board is read as your student writes it. So the moment a slip appears — a dropped negative, a mis-copied coefficient — it can be caught at the line where it happened, instead of at the end where the only feedback possible is “wrong”.

It points instead of correcting

When it finds the slip it draws an arrow at that step and asks a question about it. The student does the fixing. That is the difference between being told the answer and being taught to find one, and it is the reason the board matters more than the chat.

It draws around what they have already written

The board belongs to the student first. They can write anywhere; the tutor places its own work around what's already there, and never edits or erases their strokes. Nothing a student wrote disappears because the AI wanted the space.
A figure that was calculated cannot contain a confident step that is quietly wrong.

The math it draws is computed by an engine

Graphs, figures, distributions and tables are generated by a math engine and rendered exactly: real intercepts, true angles, correct scale. The failure mode of answer apps, confident steps that quietly contain an error a teacher would catch, is not available to a figure that was calculated.
